John Fallon is a 7th & 9th grade English teacher at Fairfield Country Day School, a Prek-9 all boys school in Connecticut. His first game based learning project was a pervasive Alternate Reality Game to support the teaching of Homer's Odyssey in his 7th grade class. John also co-designed Blind Protocol, an inter-school Alternate Reality Game that instructs on privacy and surveillance in his 9th grade class. John is passionate about advocating that games are not only a dynamic toolset for classrooms, but a distinct learning style. His work on classroom ARGs has been featured in National Public Radio's MindShift and "Teacher Pioneers" from Carnegie Mellon's ETC Press.

He also uses commercial games like The Fullbright Company's Gone Home and, more recently, Sam Barlow's Her Story which he used to teach his students the ability to tangle with a uniquely 21st century problem: the unreliable narrator.

He also loves to play games. A lot.
